………………….
He’s far down on the above list - but I’m familiar enough with Rory Hoskins, the mayor of Forest Park, to trust that he wants to serve the public rather than the other way around. He’s a proven leader unlike those at the bottom of the above list, and unlike those at the top, he’s distant from the statehouse speaker and the Democratic machine.
That’s the kind of person I want in Congress.
Go Rory!

United States Senator:
U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly (D), first elected in 2013 (Declared)
U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D), first elected in 2016 (Declared)
Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton (D), who took office with Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) in 2018 (Declared)
Both Raja and Robin are in Congress, so they both have something of a national record. Raja’s stands out for authoring bills, joining dozens of caucuses, and engaging controversies. He seems to be on fire. His website is full of energy, too. Half of his program is stopping the despicable wannabe tyrant with orange hair. A mechanical engineering degree from Princeton and a law degree from Harvard. He does seem to be among our best and brightest.
So far the biggest issue that divides the candidates is what to do about ICE.
Stratton says dismantle it, Robin says rebuild it, Raja says restrain it.
None of them says enable it to do the best job legally possible - which is my position - probably because that will not get many votes in a Democratic primary. But at least Raja comes closest among the three.
All three branches of national government are currently Republican to a large part because Americans want illegal immigrants to go back where they came from. Many of us, including myself, strongly disagree, but as Obama once said, elections have consequences - and we should allow the will of the people to be enforced. That’s democracy - and it’s not an unreasonable demand.
Go Raja!
